Chess competition in Romania

Last week Ofensiva Tinerilor organized a chess competition at the Association of the Blind in Arad, within the project Adaptive Sport Programs.
Players dueled for several hours for the title of winner. In the end, the contest was won by Mr. Sorin, who received as a prize a pint of traditional beer and another little attention.
Chess for the blind is based on the same set of rules, the only adaptations that were made to the game are related to the game board and the pieces used. The black spaces of the board are placed in relief, and the black pieces have a small adjustment placed on top of their head to facilitate an easy identification. The differences can be clearly seen in the pictures below.
